Maria Millward established HROverload in May 2016. With over 10 years’ experience in delivering HR services in both large and small businesses, Maria has worked with a number of big household names, including Age UK, JML, FOOTLOCKER, Deckers Brands (UGG) and the RSPCA.

Maria is genuinely passionate about helping businesses to solve their people challenges and optimise their workforce.

At HRoverload, we have a particular passion for helping businesses enable employees to reach company objectives by putting the required measures in place for future growth. We’re also Employee Relations experts, so if and when things go slightly awry, Maria is your lady!

We recommend you take our quick, easy and free online HR Health Check before getting in touch, so that we can get a picture of how we can best help your business. We then like to meet you face to face so that we can get to know you and your business and begin to understand your HR needs.

Following this first meeting, we will send you a proposal outlining the schedule of work, costs, agreed deadlines and so on. From then on, we can work remotely, be available at the end of the phone, or we can come into your workplace or attend meetings as and when you’d like.


At HROverload, we understand that our clients’ requirements will differ from one business to another, which is why we don’t publish a fixed fee for our time.

The best plan initially is to get in touch with us for a chat, and we can discuss your specific HR needs and what we would charge. Once we’ve completed some work for you (and you’re happy), you may want to then talk to us about a retained HR service – for example, 20 hours per month of dedicated HR support to use as and when needed.

Using HROverload on a retained basis allows you a greater degree of flexibility and can save you both time and money in the long run, whilst simultaneously maintaining the consistency and knowledge of a permanent employee (without any strings attached).
